Neil Sadaka
Over the years Joyce and I (Just Us Duo) have managed to see some celebrities back stage or in performance and were able to obtain their autographs. Sorry to say that none are my personal friends, but had a chance to see their performances, have pictures taken together along with some limited one-on-one conversation. As a movie buff I thought you might also be interested in some of the movie star autographs we have been collecting.
Joyce and I were able to get tickets to see Neil Sedaka at the Palace Theater in Myrtle Beach. Prior to picking up our tickets we learned we were going to go back stage for a meet and greet. Upon arriving in a special room we learned there were only 20 people going backstage of all the hundreds and hundreds of people at the show. Don’t ask me how this happened but at a designated time we headed backstage and 4-6 people went to his dressing room and were able to spend some great one-on-one. Of course since we do several of Mr. Sedaka’s songs I pulled an old sheet music out and sure enough Mr. Sedaka’s asked where did we get this? (Breaking Up Is Hard to Do, 1962) We mentioned that we have a duo etc. After he finished talking to the others that were with us, he came over and asked us where we played and what instruments. He was such a humble man and very sincere with his questions. We were never rushed and he signed everything, and posed for pictures.
If you get a chance to see Neil Sedaka in concert and you remember his great songs be sure to go. People were going crazy as he played hit after hit. In closing his one hour and 45 minute show he received four standing ovations. This was no doubt the best concert I have been to, and I have been to a lot. |
